It is a pillow with Willie Nelson on it. Perfect in every way.

Now THIS is what I’m talking about. Kimberly (buyer extraordinaire from our Delight.com days) just sent me a link to Williams British Handmade and my heart literally skipped a beat.
These are people who get it. THIS is what crafstmanship is all about, and what we’re missing in our mass-produced, bottom-dollar, quantity over quality society right now.
They open with this quote, and it says everything: “Historically exceptional crafstmanship was the norm, now it is the exception.”
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate their work…
I’m tagging this post in “business”, because there is a standard and an unapologetic pursuit of quality here which I think can be applied to any company. Let these guys inspire you to go beyond the norm in your own pursuits.
These new book covers designed by illustrator and cartoonist Jillian Tamaki for Penguin Classics have literally left me speechless. The colors, the embroidery, the talent of Ms. Tamaki and the fact that these are THREE OF MY MOST FAVORITE BOOKS EVER!!
I can’t wait to get these for Evelynne. To me, this is exactly what the cover of The Secret Garden should be…a magical whimsical portal into a perfect, perfect book. And Emma and Black Beauty to boot? I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read all of these when I was a girl…
I love me some iPad, but for this family, paper books will always reign supreme.
Look for these lovelies to debut October 2011, and read all about her process and see some great “making of” pics on Jillian Tamaki’s blog.
There is no doubt of my love for Boon’s Grass Drying Rack – except that lately not everything I need to dry fits on our cheery little patch of BPA-free drying “grass.” Clearly Boon heard the cry from parents who have little hungry hippos and are always drying bottles – because the grass has turned into a Lawn! This is great as we slowly venture into solids and have even more utensils to dry. Also, Evie’s 8oz glass bottles will nestle so much easier on a larger space…no more balancing acts and piling of nipples!
I take it you received our update newsletter, and you clicked on through to check out my blog. This is a work in progress, and there are big design changes in store very soon. Please excuse pages with missing information and photos…all will be completed soon in colorful, bright shininess.
So glad you’re here though. If you want to find out a bit more about why and where I’m headed, please read my New Beginnings post which sort of sums it all up.
Thanks for stopping by!
